Most Bedikat Chametz kits feature a cheap balsa wood spoon, a farmed & bleached goose feather, a yellow-dyed paraffin candle, and a mass-produced laminated blessing card. But we believe the ritual deserves something special!
Our kit contains a hand-smoothed and oiled wooden spoon crafted from sustainably harvested trees, a natural pheasant feather gathered cruelty-free from naturally shed feathers, a hand-dipped, pure beeswax candle, and a custom-designed blessing pamphlet printed on sustainably sourced parchment paper. 🌳🕊️✨
 
Bedikat Chametz (בדיקת חמץ) is the sacred ritual where one searches for any last remaining chametz (bread products) in the home, which are forbidden to possess during the festival of Pesach. By candlelight, you visually search for remaining crumbs and pieces, sweeping them into the wooden spoon with the feather. Traditionally, the feather and spoon are burned along with any remaining chametz the following morning, though this is not strictly required. 🔥🍞🌙
